TRUMYSTIC CREATES DUB PERSPECTIVE
TRUMYSTIC is on the cutting edge of Dub. They have taken the foundation of dub’s predecessors and combined it with a diverse range of influences. Dub is the root from which Trumystic is pushing a musical movement . The fusion of reggae, rock, hip hop and electronica creates Trumystic’s own incarnation of dub music. They call it Dub Perspective.
In creating Dub Perspective, we're breaking from tradition ... expanding the method and encouraging others to do the same, says Cuebrane, guitarist.
BIO
TRUMYSTIC: Dub Rockers; blending roots reggae with hip hop, jungle and rock; not soul - but from the soul; vocal and passionate, no matter what they bring to the table, it comes from the heart. Their performances blend live music, samples and sound... seamlessly. TRUMYSTIC brings the boom to sonic boom as they tear the roof off the room.
This collision of styles and talent has afforded TRUMYSTIC opportunities in their hometown of NYC, all over the U.S., Europe, and Japan. Playing with performers such as Jimmy Cliff, Black-Eyed Peas, Culture, Spookey Daley Pride, Cypress Hill, Talvin Singh, GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan, Roni Size, Jungle Brothers, The Roots, Orange 9mm, Ja Shaka and Zion Train. They have rocked the crowds at such well known venues as Bowery Ballroom & Irving Plaza(NYC), Blue Note(London), and Liquid Room (Japan). TRUMYSTIC has toured Europe and even been a featured act in the Trans Musicales Festival (Rennes, France), the Essential Music Festival (London), and the Montreaux Jazz Festival (Switzerland). They have also had their music featured in films like "The Substitute II" and "Public Enemy The Movie". They have proven their public appeal with radio singles such as "Down Together" (Trumystic: "Product 3), "Can You Dig It" (Brooklyn Beat Rockers: Episode I), "Living in Brooklyn" (Soothsayer: "Zen Turtle) and others from the core of music that is TRUMYSTIC.
BAND
TRUMYSTIC's five members are the fingers of the fist that they raise up for Dub Power as they grip their audiences like a mic and dish out their vision of Dub Perspective. Beats are kept in their place by Stephan while Antoinette tickles the skanky ivory. Eric "Cuebrain" Rabaska does things to his guitar that make you question if he shares his pillow with that 6-stringed long neck. Reggie "the Jizz"grooves on bass lines that defy you not to start head-bobbing. Kirsty Rock never ceases to amaze people with her awe-inspiring vocal ability and also throws down on some keyboard and samples just when you thought the music couldn't get any more huge. No one can deny the individaul talents of each player but, together, Trumystic is an unstoppable army marching to their own beat and recruiting new soldiers everywhere they go.
ON THE BLOCK
TRUMYSTIC has been incredibly busy during the last few months... finding time between gigs, while on the "Without the Machine" Tour, to create their next attack on your sonic consciousness: Dub Power. Watch for the single "Stand Up" to hit the streets within the next month or two (including a mix by Mad Professor). Trumystic’s Dub Perspective has become Dub Power and the album should be dropping soon, so watch out! And don’t forget to remember that Trumystic is always playing somewhere so check the web for a show near you!
For a twisted take on some Pink Foyd check out the all star line up of "Dub Side of the Moon" on Easy Star Records; featuring Corey Harris, dancehall veteran Frankie Paul, Wailers lead singer Gary "Nesta" Pine, revered harmony trio The Meditations, Brooklyn pacesetter Dr. Israel, legendary toaster Ranking Joe, and Trumystics' Kirsty Rock
